Pterostilbene is a beneficial dietary compound that you will find in some of our superfoods, such as blueberries, cranberries, and grapes, all of which are very rich in antioxidants. Testing has shown this compound to be very useful in both the health care and skincare disciplines. For instance, it has benefits that may help protect against high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and memory less. There have also been studies done in the skincare industry that show this compound may be an effective ingredient in anti-aging, skin brightening, and natural SPF protection.

Looking for a health boost as well as a way to help treat your skin from the inside out? Check out this Pterostilbene-rich foods:
“Clinical, Cosmetic, and Investigational Dermatology” recently conducted a study using 38 subjects that applied a cream with 0.4% pterostilbene over the course of eight consecutive weeks.
The results of the study were: “Natural pterostilbene showed significant inhibition of melanogenesis in vitro. Pterostilbene cream (0.4%) was highly effective in reducing markers of aging and induces even skin tone. The product was effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines, improved skin hydration elasticity and showed no adverse effects.”
The study concluded: “The results of the study described herein suggest that Natural pterostilbene is a safe and effective molecule for skin brightening and reducing signs of aging. These findings could potentially be applied in various other formulations of skincare products that help reduce photoaging, UV damage, skin brightening, and even toning. With the increasing demand for the natural cosmetic requirement by the consumers, pterostilbene offers a natural alternative for cosmetic formulations to prevent deteriorative changes during skin aging and keep the skin glowing and healthy.”
Muhammed Majeed, PhD stated, “We’ve long thought that natural pterostilbene had tremendous potential in cosmeceutical applications, which is why we began conducting research. Investigations are continuing to further expand our knowledge to support new product applications.”
Something that I love to see in modern skincare products in natural SPF protection, which you get here. On milder days, it is one less thing you have to worry about when you head out the door.
